What this is — and what it isn’t
Most consultant-network pages are written by staffing firms whose business is volume — collect the résumés, match them to a requisition. That is not how this works, and it would waste your time to pretend otherwise.
- Veritas is a specialist practice based in Apex, North Carolina, working in FDA Form 483 and Warning Letter response, consent decree and GxP remediation, and the analytical and manufacturing systems underneath them. Our principals have run remediation under consent decree, and we work alongside an established group of experienced consultants — several of them from the agency side — whom we call on as engagements require.
- Submitting this form does not add you to anything. It opens a review. Nobody joins the people we work with on the strength of a submitted form, and until we have told you otherwise in writing, you are an applicant under consideration and nothing more.
- Engagements are project-based, not employment. You would work as an independent contractor, normally through your own entity, on a named scope with a defined deliverable.
- We do not have a standing pipeline of work waiting to be filled. We bring people in when a client engagement calls for a specialisation the team on it does not already cover. Submitting this form is not an application for an open position, and we will not tell you it is.
- Everything we send a client is reviewed by a principal. If you join an engagement, your work will be read closely and questioned before it goes out. Consultants who find that uncomfortable are not a fit here.
- You keep your own clients. We ask for no exclusivity and impose no non-compete on work you bring yourself.
Where we need depth
These are the areas where an engagement is most likely to need a second specialist. Depth in one of them beats familiarity with all four.
Compliance & quality systems
Form 483 and Warning Letter response, consent decree remediation programmes, CAPA and root cause investigation, quality system design and QMS remediation, data integrity and ALCOA+, internal and supplier audits.
Analytical & laboratory
QC laboratory operations, chromatography, method development, validation and transfer, OOS and OOT investigation, stability programmes, related substances, impurities and nitrosamine risk assessment.
Sterile & manufacturing operations
Aseptic processing and sterility assurance, isolator and RABS qualification including smoke studies, process validation across all three stages, facility, utility and equipment qualification, environmental monitoring, technology transfer.
Regulatory, CSV & specialised sectors
Regulatory affairs and CMC authoring, agency correspondence and meeting preparation, computer system validation and Part 11, medical device and ISO 13485, biologics, cell and gene therapy, combination products.
What we look for
We read every submission ourselves. These are the things that make one stand out.
- 1You have done the work, not only advised on it. We would rather read about one investigation you personally ran to a defensible root cause than a list of frameworks you are familiar with.
- 2You can write for an agency reader. A large part of what we deliver is prose that has to survive a reviewer who is already sceptical. Clear, specific, evidenced writing is not a nice-to-have here.
- 3Defensible over decorative. Commitments with dates, scoped to the actual boundary of the problem — not retraining, not a memo, not a corrective action that cannot be shown to have worked.
- 4You operate as an independent business. Your own entity, and professional liability coverage in place or obtainable before an engagement starts. If you are not there yet, say so — it is a timing question, not a disqualification.
- 5You are comfortable being reviewed. Second reads run in both directions: you will be read, and you will be expected to push back when a principal is wrong.
How it works
Five steps, and no ambiguity about what silence means at the end of them.
Submit your background
The form below takes about ten minutes. It asks what you have done, not what you are interested in. You will get a reference code on the last screen — that code is your acknowledgement; there is no automatic confirmation email.
Email your CV
Attach your CV to an email quoting that reference code. Your file is not complete, and review does not begin, until both halves are in.
We review it
Read by a principal against the criteria above — not screened by keyword and not filed unread. Depth in a named area counts for more than breadth.
We come back to you — or we don’t
If we are taking it forward, you hear from a principal within ten business days of the complete file. If you have not heard by then, it is a no for now. See below — we would rather be blunt than vague.
Call, then onboarding
Only where it goes forward: a technical conversation, a conflict check, a consultancy agreement, confidentiality terms and evidence of insurance.
What you will hear back
We will not pretend to a service standard we cannot keep. Every submission is read by a principal, but we only write back to the people we are taking forward — so here is exactly what each outcome looks like from your side, including the quiet one.
You hear from us — within ten business days
That means we are taking it forward and want to talk. A technical call, then a conflict check, a consultancy agreement, confidentiality terms and evidence of insurance. You are not one of our consultants until that onboarding is complete — and completing it is still not a promise of work by either side. It means that when an engagement calls for your specialisation, you are someone we can call.
You don’t hear from us — that is a no for now
We would rather tell you that up front than leave you refreshing your inbox. It is not a judgement on your career; most often there is simply nothing open in your area. Your file stays with us for the twenty-four months you consented to and we may come back to you if that changes — but you are not on any roster, and you should plan as though the answer was no. You can email us at any time and we will delete your file immediately.
Why we do it this way. A promise to reply to everyone is easy to make on a web page and hard to keep once a post does the rounds — and a reply that arrives four months late is worse than the honest silence we have just described. If you would like a definite answer rather than an inferred one, email us after the ten days and ask; we will tell you where it stands.
While your application is open. Please do not describe yourself as a Veritas consultant, associate or affiliate — on LinkedIn, in a CV, or to a client — before you have a written confirmation from us and have completed onboarding. It is the one thing that will end an otherwise promising application.
What we will not ask of you
- No unpaid sample deliverable. We will not ask you to draft a response, an investigation or an audit plan as a screening exercise. If we want to see your writing, we will ask for a redacted example of work you were paid for.
- No exclusivity and no non-compete covering your own clients or your other consulting relationships.
- No indefinite file. We keep what you send for up to twenty-four months, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any point, and we will confirm when it is done.
- No selling or sharing your details. Your submission is read by our principals and by no one else. It is never passed to a client, a recruiter or a third party without asking you first, per engagement.
Submit your background
Ten minutes. Only the fields marked required have to be filled in — but the free-text answer near the end is the one we actually read first.
Your submission is in. Now attach your CV.
Your reference code — quote it in the subject line so the document and the form are filed together:
—The button below opens a new email to info@veritasqualityconsultants.com with the subject already filled in. Attach your CV and send. If nothing opens, email us directly and paste the code into the subject line yourself.
This is a submission, not an acceptance. Once your CV arrives against the reference code, a principal reviews the complete file. If we are taking it forward you will hear from us within ten business days; if you have not heard by then, it is a no for now, and your file stays on record for up to twenty-four months unless you ask us to delete it. If you are not sure your CV reached us, resend it with the reference code and we will confirm it arrived.
Before you ask
Do you have work available right now?
Sometimes, and we will not pretend otherwise when we do not. We bring people in when a client engagement needs a specialisation the team on it does not already cover. Treat this as a register we draw on, not a job posting.
Is this employment?
No. Engagements are independent-contractor arrangements, normally through your own entity, on a written scope with a defined deliverable and rate. There is no salary, no benefits and no minimum-hours guarantee.
If I submit the form, am I in?
No. Submitting opens a review, nothing more. A principal reads the complete file — form and CV together — and contacts you within ten business days only if we are taking it forward; silence after that means no for now. And being taken forward only becomes real once you have had the call and completed onboarding: conflict check, consultancy agreement, confidentiality terms and evidence of insurance. Until then, please do not describe yourself as a Veritas consultant or associate anywhere.
Will you tell me if the answer is no?
Not as a matter of course, and we would rather say so than quietly not do it. We write back to the people we are taking forward; if ten business days pass with nothing, treat that as a no for now. If you want a definite answer, email us after that point and ask — we will tell you where your file stands, and delete it on request.
What do you pay?
It is set per engagement against the scope, the specialisation and the client rate — we do not publish a rate card, and anyone who does is quoting you a number they will renegotiate later. We ask for your expectation on the form so that neither of us spends time on a conversation that was never going to work financially.
Do I need my own insurance and entity?
Before an engagement starts, yes — professional liability coverage and a contracting entity. Not to submit the form. If you are mid-transition out of a staff role, say so; it is a sequencing question, not a rejection.
I am a former FDA investigator. Is that useful here?
Very — some of the people we already work with came from the agency side. Say so in the agency field. One caveat we will raise rather than let you discover it later: post-government-employment restrictions on representing parties before your former agency are yours to know and observe, and we will ask you to confirm your engagement does not run into them.
Can I apply from outside the United States?
Yes. Most of our work is US-facing, but EU, UK and Canadian regulatory depth is genuinely useful and some engagements are entirely remote. Tell us where you are and what travel you can do.
What happens to my data?
The form goes to our own inbox. It is read by our principals and by no one else. We do not sell it, publish it, or pass it to clients or recruiters without asking you first about that specific engagement. We keep it for up to twenty-four months and then delete it, and you can ask us to delete it sooner at info@veritasqualityconsultants.com. Our Terms of Use cover the rest of the site.
I would rather just send a CV.
You can — email it to info@veritasqualityconsultants.com. It will take us longer to place you, because the form captures the things a CV usually leaves out: what you would take the lead on, your availability, and whether you are set up to contract.
